Thomas--thanks for posting your thoughts. I appreciate it. I get a fair amount of readers, but not many comments.

I enjoyed and have been reflecting on Pres Uctdorf talk as well.

I agree with your thoughts about keeping our eyes on the Savior and doing all in our power to move in His direction. I feel if we focus on Him then all the other things we do in the church will be more valuable and acceptable to Him.

Jared,

Thanks for this and for the role you've taken on the Internet.

I have had an image in my head that has been helping me for the last several days. It started when I was listnening to Pres Uctdorf talk about getting off course. I thought, what is my course, and how do I correct it?

The image is of being in darkness, head down. Then looking up, and looking around for the Saviour and listening for His voice. And then, seeing and hearing, moving exactly in that direction. That, it seems me to me, is repentence, as well as the Straight and Narrow path. It puts us in the channel where we are receiving his aid. The act of looking to Him and moving ahead towards Him constitute Faith in Him and repentence. Along that path are Baptism, the Gift of the Holy Ghost, Temple Covenants, etc. But the essential element is looking to the Savior and "coming to Him': to where He is, both figuratively and literally.
