Each time we use our "humanistic" deductive reasoning and seek to make decisions without the help of that light, or our Father, it becomes more dim. Eventually it may even be extinguished, in some very extreme cases pushing us to "outer darkness". When that light is introduced to truth, if it can filter out the "natural man" tendencies, it will be attracted to more light. For light is attracted to light. For this reason we are commanded to "put off the natural man". Eventually the light becomes a perfect brightness of hope, or the perfect day, where we are filled with His light, because we are like Him.
