Don't hold your breath about the focus of the Bloggernacle changing to the doctrine of Christ. There are many great individual bloggers who do, but as a whole, those who frequent the group blogs are focused on the moral and ethical teachings of men. You had a great discussion going about the use of scriptures on the Bloggernacle in a recent post, "Where's the Beef?" And as we both know, many of the fringe elements of the church hang out on some of those group blogs just to introduce the worldly, "Why couldn't it be this way?" point of view.

Thought-provoking post. Thanks.

This is such a simple concept, but it eludes (or even offends) so many. Atheists, humanists, etc., believe that man can perfect man. They believe that a "perfect" human society can be envisioned and created in the same way a public works project is: just get some politicians and bureaucrats together, and stir in a whole bunch of money.

Many christians of our day, on the other hand, will not tolerate the idea that man can become more than he is now. They do not actually believe what the Bible says: that we are children of our God, created in His express image. This notion offends them.

Only the doctrine of the gospel of Jesus Christ found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints provides the full picture. It is there to be accepted, or rejected, as each individual wills.
