I think Mr. Cook forgot to mention about the Lord’s timing, and that we don’t just get things because we want and ask for them. I’ve finally found the love of my life, after 7 years of begging and pleading. I know that I really desired a righteous thing, and that I was asking according to the will of the Lord. I now know what needed to happen before He could grant that desire, but it wasn’t me failing to “learn and obey the principles that govern what I want.”

It should be pointed out, that Mr. Cook’s teachings have become somewhat out of style, especially his teachings about “binding the Lord.” I was very happy to learn that general authorities were asking that copies of his talk “faith in the Lord Jesus Christ” to be destroyed, not because such faith isn’t important, but rather the style of his teaching was confusing if not incorrect…

    Psychochemiker–

Thanks for commenting. I had to wait an equal number of years to find my wife. Tough trial!

I was unaware that he ran into trouble with his teaching. I’ll see if I can find some info on this. If you find something let me know.
