New Order Mormons-A Path of Deception
While surfing the Bloggernacle I came across a blog with a post that I would like to review. The author of the post shared his "testimony". He started out by stating that he was born and raised in the church, served on a mission, and cherishes the church, and then added that he did not believe in the spiritual claims of the church and never really had. This includes foundational things like the first vision, coming forth of the Book of Mormon, and the restoration of the priesthood by angelic messengers. In other words, all claim of the "supernatural" (his choice of words) never happened.
To him, the church is just an organization of men doing good things based on a whopper of a story. But, that is all right with him because there are many practical aspects of the church that are good, he writes.
Receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost
Authority Restored
The restoration of the gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith restored many things that had been lost from the earth. The authority to baptize and confer the gift of the Holy Ghost was among things lost. John the Baptist, now a resurrected man, restored the authority to baptize and confer the gift of the Holy Ghost when he laid his hands on Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery (JS-History 1:67-74).
There are many blessings associated with receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. Joseph Smith wrote about the change he and Oliver experienced immediately after receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost:
Serendipitous Answers to Prayer
I think everyone has experienced serendipity. Serendipitous blessings come about in many ways. They can happen in a chance meeting of someone, that turns out to be more than a chance meeting, because out of it comes something unexpected and beneficial, be it great or small-in answer to prayer-our prayer or someone else's prayer in our behalf.
For several months I have been praying about a concern I have and last week I received a serendipitous answer from Heavenly Father. As I've ponder the details of this experience I am grateful that God hears and answers prayer this way.

“Prepare For The Troubles And Desolations Which Are About To Be Poured Upon The World Without Measure”
The scripture teach that Latter-Day-Saints have a rendezvous with the last days. The Lord has provided a great deal of information about the events that lead up to the second coming of Christ. None of it is very appealing to those who enjoy living in Babylon[1], because the time is coming when the world as we now know it, will fail, and great will be the fall. Out of the ashes of Babylon will emerge the city of Zion. The 10th Article declares:
We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
